MIDNIGHT PARTY

The minutes where Lina Romay has some clothes on, are less than ten minutes on the seventy and more of the entire film. You must count them, too. But don’t think exclusively bad. "Midnight Party" is not just a succession of scenes to see Romay, once again, naked in every visible detail.

No. "Midnight Party" is something more. It 'a psychedelic and bizarre grimace at the cinema, with particular attention to "spy story" and the porn movies.

At first it’s disorienting because it is not clear what is the goal of Franco, but as the film unfolds and Lina rolls in the beds the picture becomes clearer, even more confused and bizarre in his apt parody.

The infallible Franco hit the target, using the keys of the same gender that he wants to spoof. On a “Spy Story” he puts some porn structures to tell to us the confused and paradoxical funny life of Sylvia (Lina Romay). She is a Stripper in a nightclub, it would be better to say nudist, and she is the girlfriend of three different men: a Communist, an agent undercover of the CIA and a man who likes houseworks. One evening after an hot party, Sylvia ends in bed with a couple of foreigners. The next morning she found the two killed. No time to escape and Sylvia is kidnapped and pressed by three people led by Janos Radneck (Jess Franco) who persistently asks about a Spencer.

But our protagonist is a stranger to all issued she is "repaid" in a way that We leave to yours immagination. Sylvia continues his story by telling what happened to the engaged, magnifying every time the story adding new and hot situations which end with others “refunds”.

All apologies that don’t exclude the reversal at end of the story with shooting and final confession about the true identity of Janos Radneck.

The funny side as well as the strangeness of the story and the continuing sexual freedom of the main character is represented by a large number of episodes of "meta-cinema" in which Lina Romay and then also Jess Franco go directly to the audience or comment the scene that they are living. Maybe are  little “free” the final scenes, but there is no doubt on the work of Spanish director, and the beauty of Romay. The cast also room for other notables exploitation’s actors (MonicaSwinn, Evelyne Scott, Olivier Mathot).
