THE SINFUL DWARF

There is something fascinanting about "Sinful Dwarf" and isn’t certainly the plot or the realization, as it’s a bad movie, done badly, played even worse with dark places and filthy context. But it has a sort of perverse fascination, is worth to be watch and it accomplishes to annoy the viewer.

Probably is the contrast, a kind of sweet and bitter at the same time, with a perverse wickedness from beginning to end, whose bearer is the disturbing lead character.
Probably this is unwatchable but unmissable danish "sexploitation" of 1973, guesses a couple of things that make it deeply disturbing.
The first is the choice of the protagonist. A dwarf from the satanic expressions played by an excellent Torben Bille, that we also saw in two stjernenfilmserien and there he can vary the expression, creating a character simply disgustin.
The other aspect that "Sinful Dwarf" centers are the machines of evil, innocent mechanical toys  and  equally innocent poohs plush that are used for purposes not exactly legal.
A winning contrast, however, and unfortunately placed on, as already said, a bad realization of and very a slow plot.
But "Sinful Dwarf" goes beyond these things and doesn’t spare a series of filthy hard scenes.
Torben Bille is obviously the "Sinful Dwarf" of the title, more precisely, it’s Olaf, a man that draws young girls with mechanical toys and then snatch them and segregate them in the attic of his house. He isn’t the only villain here, because there is also his mother, former lead singer of bad club and chronic alcoholic. A nice little family that has, in a sense, the snuff business. Aside from the girls segregated and that are forced into prostitution, they are pushers and also they rent a room to two newlyweds
The girl soon becomes the target of Olaf and brings the man toplay a series of gruesome things ranging from voyeurism to abuse, the strongest scene of the film, without forgetting forcing to drugs and segregation (why miss something?).
Although the situations in which they are not among the happiest, the pair represents the turning point of the story and she, Mary is also the aesthetic/erotic side of the movie.
The final scene is the only truly artistic aspect of this film by Vidal Raski and we must admit that is a very good end.
"Dværgen" is the original title of this filthy movie whose dirty passes through the screen. Bleah. A film  that has been panned and censored at the time and that has been repurposed for the international market in two different versions, the Japanese and the U.S.. The second was proposed by none other than a great fixer of sexploitation: Harry Novak.
As for us we had the great lucky (so to speak) to see the “uncut” version reissued on DVD.

Apart from Torben Bille and a small role of Werner Hedman, as Santa Claus a drug dealer, the cast consists of actors who have made very few appearances in the world of cinema. It’s the only one movie directed by Vidal Raski, (very promising), the only appearance for the beautiful Anne Sparrow (Mary) and sporadic interpretation for the husband of Mary (Tony Eades) and for Clara Keller, the mother of Olaf.
Weird and meaning apart the movie is focused on Torben Bille. Famous actor at the time, because he was the only danish dwarf actor he, began his career with a wandering company of artists. Then he embarked on the world of cinema with some tecnichal roles and as actor too, of course. Oladf is his most famous character, much more of the roles played in  in two movies with Werner Hedman. Apparently, and we enter the gossip, he has married the beautiful Anne Sparrow and he was also a great womanizer. He  died in 1993 at only 47 years
