Turkish Star Trek

If the site where we calculated the date astral is credible we are in the -350 000, ie at the beginning of 1973. An important year for the big screen, because the relentless Turkish cinema celebrates one of its most famous raids of copyright. And is a big hit, because they occupy the Enterprise of Star Trek. Not only that, they use actors resembling the original, steal the story of "The Man Trap" (the first episode airing) and turn it all into a comedy. They could also claim that this is the first film about the series, could, we said, because of course no one recognizes this chapter as official.

Brilliant, yet shocking idea that meets and marries the series Turist Ömer, a successful series of comedy movies that from 1963 to 1973 tells the exploits of a reckless character, played by the popular comedian Sadri Alışık that in this latest adventure goes in space.
The first few minutes of "Turist Ömer Uzay Yolu'nda" commonly known as "Turkish Star Trek" gives the idea of the usual autarkic version of some American film. The Entrerprise, Kirk, Spock (with embarrassing ears), McCoy and Uhrura all replicated with vague lookalike actors and clothing that although remember the original uniforms (women in miniskirt) doesn’t go as well as being a kind of colored pajamas .

When Turist Ömer enters in the story at 15th minute, it changes everything and from Turkish sci-fi the whole became a parody of the saga. The protagonist often jokes with the rational Spock and especially with the central story. Apart from an indecent realization between cardboard sets and the use a little 'sacrilegious of the city of Ephesus (which becomes a planet), it must be said that for its kind "Turkish Star Trek" is not bad. Of course, it must also point out that the actors recite embarrassingly (Kirk is amazing) and the story at some point becomes a series of endless gags, but we can understand the success of this series and enjoy this adventure.

"The Man Trap" as we said at the beginning is the basic story. So we have the Enterprise  that arrives on planet M-113 (here Aurin 7) to recover some data and help Dr. Krater, with a K, and his wife Nancy, only inhabitants of the planet with some robots on which they conduct since some years archaeological studies.
The couple is in good shape and apart the salt they don’t need nothing. It seems everything is in order but the young Darnell of the Enterprise crew is found dead. The Crater to close the incident and give a guilty to Kirk and company, kidnap and teleport Turist Ömer in trouble with a wedding. From here begins the investigation and plans of the Crater, lightened by the presence of Omer and his jokes.

So let's fly on the main theme of "Star Trek" badly mixed with "Out of limits" by the Ventures. Another great movie by the old Turkish Cinema
