Ghost  Cam

We agree with the opinion that the cinema has left to the TV series, once seen as the plague, the honor to try new ideas. But more avant-garde are the web series and among them "Ghost Cam" is one of the Italian strangest examples, bizarre and interesting we've seen this year.
Valentina Bertuzzi directs and writes with her sister Francesca a story that is version 2.0 of two great classics of horror: death and ghosts. Two topics not easy if we consider the thousands of changes and proposals on the subject.
But Valentina Bertuzzi finds an original way, using many social and new media. Eight short episodes ranging from minute to minute and a half, except the last one, which roll out slowly an incredibly disturbing story.
Lana (Beatrice Bruschi) and Pier (Giampiero Rotoli) are two brothers whose father has posted on Facebook a video shot with an application of his invention. "Ghost Cam". An app that shows the ghost of someone who is about to die. The "Soon to die". From here begins the doubts and concerns of Lana which are contrasted with the ideas diametrically opposed of her brother. To believe or not to believe in the esoteric world?
"Ghost Cam" smoothly and intelligently uses chats, webcam and apps, to tell a horror story. The characters are talk argue and reveal all using the new methods of communication and are being to give to us a sense of unease and anxiety. A further aspect that takes advantage of modern times was to create a group on Facebook where the characters of the series live in what has been called a "Social Theatre Group".
This interesting narrative choice is combined a production that works well with few things. Most of the episodes are shot indoors, using a single lens, a few actors and great attention to detail.
Few simple but effective special effects complete a curious series, which is already planning the sequel.
