The desire to watch this movie passes unfortunately quickly. Sebastiano Somma believes he is in a fotoromanzo and looks like a dummy (not that today has improved). Marino Masè probably has to make some money and works without believing too much. Jenny Tamburi tries to do it well but is out of role and had to play the character of Lilli Carati, she too out of role. Resuming: Joe D'Amato directs, writes, (with Donatella Donati) the third film like Tinto Brass, but it is a boring love drama/soft core and whose music composed by Guido Anelli and Stefano Mainetti make it worse. As always our beloved director tries to do things right, try a sophisticated direction with a naughty story and manages to create interesting sex scenes (thanks to the beauty of Jenny Tamburi and Lilli Carati). But as said, everything does not work at the end.
We are in 1938, as we understand from the voice of Niccolò Carosio, struggling with the usual bored and perverse bourgeoisie under the fascism. Diego (Marino Masè) is a well-known doctor married with Cristina (Jenny Tamburi). One day he takes home the handsome Andrea (Sebastiano Somma), trying in every way to leave his wife alone with his friend. Cristina and Andrea become lovers pushing their relationship more and more to the extreme, using Andrea's atelier which is actually a brothel where Cristina has relationships with men and women and where she becomes the main attraction having sex in a room with a big mirror. Hiding behind the mirror is Diego, who watches his wife's performances with pleasure. Francesca (Lilli Carati) jealous of Andrea reveals the game to Cristina. And here it would be logical to expect a reversal of the situation but very little happens apart from the break between Cristina and Andrea. She eventually willingly accepts her husband's perversions.
A story certainly not original, if we think about the mirror, but Tinto Brass takes up the concept of "L’uomo che guarda" and D'Amato himself proposes the same dynamics in "La casa del piacere".
Small role also for Laura Gemser and last erotic movie for Jenny Tamburi.
